It is always great to see a drummer land a great gig, & Nathaniel Dobas (Owner/Director-Dobas Music Studio’s), recently did that by winning the spot behind the kit for Warner Stage Company’s production of “Rock Of Ages”. I was reading his posts as he was auditioning, and was really happy for him when he got it. These productions are extremely involved, and you truly have a be a highly skilled player to even be considered for these. The show will run at the theatre from February 6th-14th in Torrington, Ct. He also ordered a 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 for the show through Drum Center Of Portsmouth which I was delighted about. This is a big theater production, and he needed a drum with a huge cut for the show. That size of my drums has been used extensively in larger venues, and there is no doubt it will be perfect for the task.
Thanks Again Nathaniel for everything. Really looking forward to your updates as the show begins, and to continuing this story. Thank You as well to Tony Interlande at Drum Center Of Portsmouth for expediting this order so efficiently.
Russ Whitman will be performing at halftime tomorrow at The Liberty Bowl with Craig Morgan. Russ will be using his 1.5 Steel Snare–5.5 x 14 as a main, and will also have his 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 13 as an auxiliary. He also has a 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 15 which is new. The game will begin at 2:20 CST. Will update this story as pics and videos of the performance come in. Thanks Russ for everything…Very much looking forward to seeing the show…
The first of the 1.5 Steel Series drum will be arriving late next week at Singapore Drum Shop, and I could not be more delighted about this. Entrepreneur, and all-around drum enthusiast Benny Lim started the shop in 2013, and it is the only specialized drum store in Singapore. Thank You for everything Benny…Looking forward to doing a lot of business with you. I will be posting constant updates on the shop as drums arrive…
Several big Thank You’s going out to Mike Dawson-Managing Editor for Modern Drummer magazine. First of all, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your review in print, and the video demo’s of the Beier 1.5 Steel–4 x 15 and the 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 15. You did a great job. Your writing is always objective, always specific and accurate, and is always full of enthusiasm for drums and anything related to the drum world. It really was a privilege to have you review my drums. Secondly…A huge Thank You as well for taking out your 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 15 live last night on New Years Eve, and for forwarding the below pic to me of your kit last night with the drum. As with the below article on Monte & Artimus…When you guys take my gear out to play live, and use them in the studio…That is the ultimate compliment to me here. Out of everything that you have…That you guys would choose my gear for a show or track….Is as good as it gets for a drum maker. Link below to an excerpt from the article, and instructions to access the full copy online…
Have a wonderful New Year…And Thanks Again to you & Modern Drummer magazine…
Two Legends. Two Drums. This was a great pic to receive from Monte Yoho from the WNC Center last night in Fletcher, N.C., and it was a wonderful way to start the New Year at Beier Drums. The Outlaws were performing live with The Artimus Pyle Band for New Years Eve. Monte Yoho is one of the founding members of one of the greatest Southern Rock bands in history…The Outlaws. Artimus Pyle is the sound behind all of the great early Lynyrd Skynyrd songs, & he is now carrying that on with his all-star band in the Artimus Pyle Band. Both were using their go-to exclusive drums…The Beier 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14, and have been for quite some time. Thank You To Both Of You. Like I told you Monte…I just wish I could have been there…!
Jerry Lyda is an extremely gifted guitar player, a member of the Artimus Pyle Band, and is the owner of Music City Asheville which is also a Dealer for Beier Drums. Thanks for taking time out to carry my drums in your store in 2015 Jerry…You have been great to deal with. Looking forward to the coming year.
Happy New Year To All Three Of You….See you soon…..!
