Thanks to Drew McKeon for sending me this clip of Michael Bolton’s band performing at Royal Albert Hall. This band…All of them…Are simply stunning at what they do. I really appreciate you taking your 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 out on the world tour. Am looking forward to you using your 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 as well….
Thanks Rodger Carter for sending me this pic of your new Beier 1.5 Steel Snare–6.5 x 14 from the studio. I truly appreciate it, and hope you find great use for it.
Rodger is the long time drummer for Rick Springfield, and the owner of Doghouse Studio. He has performed and recorded with numerous artists including Berlin, Lita Ford, John Waite, Eddie Money, Gene Simmons, and many more. He used his Beier 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 on the track “Get Down Make Love” from his record “Licorice Pizza,” and also his Beier 2mm Brass Snare–6 x 14 on the track “Wichita Lineman” on Glen Campbell’s “See You There”.
Had the great pleasure of attending the Southern Rock Reunion on August 4th in Elgin, Illinois. The line-up was a great one: The Outlaws-Artumus Pyle-Molly Hatchett-The Marshall Tucker Band. I got to see my friend, and long-time supporter of Beier Drums-Monte Yoho….finally! It had been some time. As always, The Outlaws were in spectacular form, and were simply incredible. It was also great to introduce Artimus Pyle to Beier Drums, and watch him work his way through all of the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd songs that his band plays. Monte was using his mainstay go-to snare-The Beier 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 live, with his 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 as an auxiliary. Thanks Again to Monte & all of The Outlaws, Artimus Pyle, and Ron Onesti who is the owner of The Arcada Theater, and who is arguably the best concert promoter in this country…
Simon Wright, simply put, is one of the greatest rock drummers of our time. Currently with Hellion & Geoff Tate’s Queensryche, he is as much of a powerhouse as he has ever been. His solo on the Beier 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 is a must see and listen-Link below for You Tube. Please do see him on the final leg of Geoff Tate’s Queensryche Tour in July & August, and on an upcoming Tour in October with Hellion. Thank You Simon!
Have seen Frankie quite a bit in the last couple of months, and it was great to see him again when the Bang Your Head Tour rolled through Illinois. Frankie did a demo of the 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 15 for me and after sound check, decided to use it for the show. It was uncoated, and outfitted with a Remo 15″ CS Ambassador Black Dot & Hazy. Interesting experiment because Frankie primarily plays 6.5 depth snares live. The results…Were great. Will have live samples of the drum from the show and sound check on my site late Summer, and will post. Huge sound from this drum from one of The Masters. Thanks once again Frankie.
Pat McDonald of The Charlie Daniels Band received his Beier 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 this last weekend, and used it live that night. Pat is one of the all-time great players, and really gave it a run through. Got a great response from him on the drum, the band, and was delighted to hear it. Pat will have this drum on tour along with his Beier 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14. Thanks Pat as well for all of your dialogue on drums….Your insights are always incredible.
